Exoligamentz supported by BeAngels and Elev8te to reinvent hand protection in contact sports

Exoligamentz is taking a major step forward with new support from BeAngels and Elev8te. Founded by Ashkan Joshghani, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and researcher at Ghent University, the company is developing a unique innovation: a second-skin sports glove that protects athletes’ fingers without restricting natural movement — a high-performance alternative to traditional sports taping.

An innovative glove that sets a new standard

After more than 10 years of research and development, the Exoligamentz team has created a patented multi-layer reinforcement technology designed to significantly reduce the risk of finger injuries, which are especially common in contact sports. Unlike traditional taping — often time-consuming, restrictive, and short-lived — the XH1 (BETA) glove offers advanced protection, superior comfort, and full freedom of movement.

With this new funding, the startup will accelerate the production, development, and commercial launch of its first product version, supporting athletes in both training and competition.

A global market driven by grappling sports

Exoligamentz is initially targeting the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Judo communities — a beachhead market of more than 25 million practitioners worldwide. As finger injuries are extremely common in these disciplines, this innovative, durable, and comfortable solution introduces a new standard of protection for contact sports.

An impact beyond the mats

With this funding round, Exoligamentz aims to redefine hand protection for athletes globally. The company plans to further enhance its technology and expand into additional sports where the hands are heavily exposed to strain.

BeAngels congratulates Ashkan Joshghani and the entire team on this major milestone. The journey is only just beginning.
